Purpose: This calculator estimates a person’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes within the next 5 years using the Australian Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Tool. It is a screening aid only and does not diagnose diabetes.

2. Gender
3(a). Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Pacific Islander or Māori descent?
3(b). Country or region of birth
4. Parent, brother or sister diagnosed with diabetes?
5. Ever found to have high blood glucose?
6. Currently taking medication for high blood pressure?
7. Daily tobacco smoking?
8. Eat vegetables or fruit every day?
9. At least 2.5 hours of physical activity per week?
10. Waist measurement

Measure waist below the ribs, usually near navel level, while standing.
