This calculator estimates MRSA risk in patients presenting to the hospital with pneumonia and is mainly used to identify patients at low risk for MRSA.

Risk factors

Applies if the patient is a young adult or age 80+.

On or before index culture.

Present before admission.

Known dementia diagnosis.

Applies only when both female sex and diabetes mellitus are present.
