The published SCORMA formula is A/5 + 5B + 2C/5, where A is extent of skin involvement, B is intensity of 4 skin findings scored 0–3 each, and C is 5 subjective symptoms scored on a 0–10 visual scale. It is used to assess the severity of cutaneous mastocytosis in children and adults.
One note: SCORMA is mainly a severity/monitoring index. The core published sources support using it to track disease burden over time, but they do not define universal risk bands like “low/moderate/high.” So the interpretation below is a practical severity description rather than an official validated cutoff system.
SCORMA Index Calculator
SCORMA (SCORing MAstocytosis) Index assesses the severity of
cutaneous mastocytosis in children and adults.
Formula:
SCORMA = A/5 + 5B + 2C/5
A = extent of skin involvement (% body surface area, 0–100)
B = intensity score (sum of 4 items, each 0–3)
C = subjective symptoms score (sum of 5 items, each 0–10)
Formula:
SCORMA = A/5 + 5B + 2C/5
A = extent of skin involvement (% body surface area, 0–100)
B = intensity score (sum of 4 items, each 0–3)
C = subjective symptoms score (sum of 5 items, each 0–10)
SCORMA Index:
SCORMA is mainly a clinical severity and follow-up tool. Repeated measurements are useful for monitoring change over time.
