The Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) is the most widely used clinician-rated measure of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) severity. Developed by Goodman and colleagues in 1989, it is designed to quantify symptom burden independently of obsession/compulsion content, making it useful across all OCD presentations.
