This implementation uses the published Metroticket 2.0 equation based on:
- largest vital tumor diameter (cm)
- number of vital nodules
- AFP (ng/mL)
The published model estimates the 5-year risk of HCC-related death after liver transplantation as:
5-year risk = 1 − exp{ −exp[(0.227 × (largest tumor size + number of nodules)) + (0.817 × log10(AFP)) − 0.014] }
So the calculator below reports:
5-year HCC-specific survivability = (1 − risk) × 100.
