The CENTOR Score is a simple clinical prediction rule used to estimate the likelihood that a sore throat is caused by Group A Streptococcus (GAS), the bacteria responsible for “strep throat.” It helps clinicians decide who is unlikely to benefit from antibiotics and who may need testing or treatment.
