About the APGAR Score
The APGAR score evaluates a newborn’s health at 1 and 5 minutes after birth. It assesses five components: Appearance, Pulse, Grimace, Activity, and Respiration.
Interpretation
- 7–10: Generally normal — good overall condition.
- 4–6: Moderately low — may need assistance and monitoring.
- 0–3: Critically low — requires immediate medical attention.
